"Cântă cucul și pe ploaie" takes the convention of a reportage movie in the style of those made in those days at the "Alexandru Sahia" Studio. A reporter from the Scânteia newspaper arrives in the small mountain town of Bocșa to document the abuses committed many years ago, in 1962, by the headmaster of the town's high school, with the complicity of local authorities.
